The skin is actually the body’s largest and living body/organ.
For an adult, the skin weighs approx. 3 kg. and covers a surface of approx. 2 m2.
The main functions of the skin is to protect the body against the effects of microorganisms, chemicals, pressure and just something as simple as water and soap.
The skin consists of several layers:
- Epidermis (Top skin)
- Dermis (Leather skin)
- Subcutis (Under skin)
